Dan Nethercott

Managing Partner, President and CEO

Daniel Nethercott has been a real estate professional for over two decades. As President of Redfern Development, Dan acts as the principal liaison to investors, partnerships, and directing boards, both public and private. In addition, Dan is continually dedicated to the growth of Redfern and leads the company with his strategic expertise and visionary goals. His experience encompasses the complete development process spanning varied economic cycles. He has the perspective from conceptual planning of raw land through each essential entitlement step, business model development, and finally disposition negotiations that yield a well performing investment property. Before forming Redfern Development in 2004, Dan had spent the majority of his career in executive management positions including over 10 years as a Senior Vice President and Partner for the Grupe Company, one of the largest commercial and residential developers in Northern California. Dan is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and a senior member of the ULI Multi Family Council. He received a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Brigham Young University prior to attending graduate school at the Arizona State University School of Business.

Dan is married and the father and grandfather of four children and a granddaughter. He resides in Folsom, California. His free time is spent with his family, in his various community and church responsibilities, and managing his charity in Ghana, Africa.


Jason Brown

Partner, Vice President of Development

In his role as Vice President of Development, Jason has the responsibility of overseeing the development and management of current Redfern projects in addition to evaluating potential future projects.  Jason coordinates and collaborates with architects, government employees, general contractors, brokers, and citizens to help maximize returns for RedFern’s portfolio of properties and projects. Jason received a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the Marriott School of Management at BYU. More »

Jason's areas of expertise include finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.  Entering the investment world in 2002, Jason started a financial consulting firm for wealthy business owners and their families.  After building a successful practice, Jason sold his firm and formed a partnership with Daniel Nethercott and Redfern Development.    

Jason and his wonderful wife are raising their children in Folsom, California. Outside of work Jason enjoys spending time with his family, serving in church responsibilities, playing racquetball, and playing his guitars.


Kyle Masters

Vice President of Acquisitions

Acting as Vice President of Acquisitions, Kyle manages the acquisition process from due diligence through final entitlements. Since 1983, Kyle has played a key role in the development of more than a dozen master-planned communities within Northern California. Specifically, he is considered an industry leader in the creation of master-planned communities that incorporate smart growth principles including sustainable environmental practices. More »

Prior to joining forces with Redfern Development, Kyle served as Vice President of Operations at Newland Communities. Among his responsibilities was the 1,100 acre master-planned community of Whitney Ranch. Additionally, Kyle managed the Sacramento development interests for the well regarded Stockton based developer the Grupe Company. While at Grupe, his accomplishments included the successful entitlement procurement for a large master planned community known as Sunset Ranchos, map and architectural design review for 450 apartment units, and nearly 1,000 single family mapped lots.

Kyle is a graduate of the California State University, Sacramento’s Real Estate and Land Use Affairs program. When he’s not working, Mr. Masters can be found on the Sacramento Delta fishing or on the golf course. Kyle, his wife Shelly, and their two children reside in Sacramento, CA.

Kimberly Spitzley

Controller

Kimberly has twenty-one years of experience in the accounting field. She brings to Redfern Development, a wide range of abilities that include the financial analysis, preparation and reporting of monthly financial statements, cash flow management, account reconciliations, job costing, human resource management, and IT expertise. More »

Kimberly graduated with honors from the University of Phoenix receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration, and an Associates degree in Business Administration from American River College. In her free time, Kim loves to spend time with her family and friends.


Nate Garvin

Leasing Manager

Nate has the responsibility of overseeing leasing efforts and tenant marketing for all Redfern projects. In addition to leasing, Nate works closely with tenants, brokers, and our leasing team to address property issues and increase the value of Redfern Development properties. More »

Starting his career in Orange County, California Nate has over five years of commercial and residential real estate experience. Nate relocated to the Sacramento area with his wife and children in 2004. When not working he spends as much time as possible enjoying a variety of outdoor sports and activities.


Alec Nethercott

Leasing Agent

Recently joining Redfern Development, Alec has been an excellent addition to leasing efforts. With over three years of successful door-to-door sales experience and strong ambition Alec has helped to increase leasing activity at Stonelake Landing and will continue to bring new tenants and residents to future projects. In 2008, Alec married his high school sweetheart and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Sacramento State. During the rare times that Alec is not studying or working he enjoys wakeboarding, spending time with friends and family, and playing guitar.


David Stauffer

Marketing Coordinator

David has displayed an eye for creative marketing from a young age. While still in high school, David had a video production company, producing videos for hire and even won a first place award for the Sacramento region with a video he had directed and edited. With over five years of video production experience David aids Redfern with their marketing efforts on current properties and other outside investments. More »

When David is away from the office he enjoys live music, recreation at Folsom Lake, and spending time with family and friends. He is currently attending college and working toward a business management degree.
